This week, I had a handful of exams that I had to deal
with. I took a Greek quiz, AP History quiz, Midterm exam for Ethics, and a
Language Arts test. I was confident for most of the exams given because I studied
really hard. However, I am pretty sure that I completely flunked my AP quiz.
This brought my self-esteem very low because I did not go with my gut, and I changed
a couple of answers, which were actually correct before. On the bright side, he
is allowing those who did not do so well to retake it, but he is going to make
it a bit more complex. Friday went smoothly, especially in Physics. In the
beginning of the year, our teacher had given us a test with topics that we
barely even knew, and we all failed. Today, he allowed us to retake it, now
that we finally understood it, and I got 100%. The Language Arts test was also
held today, and I felt pretty confident about it. We also had a discussion in
Ethics, and it was very hard for me but I participated once, and this made me a
bit more dauntless.
Hey Kate! I really liked your blog post. I wanted to say that it is okay to feel overwhelmed and scared about grades and schoolwork sometimes. I am sure you did not fail the AP quiz, but if you got a grade you are unhappy with I am sure you will ace the retake because you are very determined. Congratulations on doing so well in Physics! Ans about participation, it is something incredibly hard for me as well, but recently I have been able to try more. The advice I can give you for that is to try your best to push aside all thoughts of worry or doubt and force your hand to raise. It does not matter if your answer is right or wrong (though I'm sure you always have the right answer), your effort is what counts not the answer. I am sure you can improve and keep up the progress you already made! Goodluck! :)
