Second Week: Virtue Update

Since it’s only the third week of school, not much has changed. I did not really progress in all of my virtues, but I mainly focused on confidence, and dauntlessness. This week, during Algebra 2, I had a bit of trouble with one of the homework problems. The teacher questioned various times if we needed any help with the homework, and I felt pretty shy to be one of the only ones to ask. On the other hand, I began to think of my virtues, and I thought that it was time to be brave (dauntless). I slowly raised my hand, and well basically I just asked away. I felt really good about myself right after because I understood how to solve it, after taking over a bit of shyness. In History, the teacher asked a question, but no one responded. I felt like I knew the answer, but I began to doubt myself. I started to think that I might have been correct after hearing some students whisper the same answer, so I voiced my response, and I got it right. This might not have been much of a development, but I think I improved just a bit.

  1. Hey there Kate! Let me tell you that you improved a lot. To be honest I am shy, too. I know how you feel, and it was really good that you started working on your virtues that way! You may be doubting yourself right now, but if you continue like this you are going to achieve those virtues really quick! I have known you only for three weeks but I can tell you are a great person, you just need to work on that shyness, that way people will realize how nice and amazing you are. Keep up the good work! You are doing great!

  2. That's really good! It's actually great that you made an attempt to make yourself a better person. It doesn't necessarily matter whether you succeed or not, but you most likely will if you continue the great effort. Sometimes it's just those small leaps of faiths that can change the way you are. Being shy is not fun at all and you can change that if you try hard enough. I hope you can overcome this and become an even better person that you are now! :)))))))
